Planning for Independent Fieldwork Investigations at A Level

A London Geography Alliance/UCL Event

Wednesday 26th April: 4.30-6.15pm (refreshments served from 4.30-4.45pm) G07 Pearson Building Department of Geography University College London Gower Street London WC1E 6BT

The A Level fieldwork investigation is an important stepping stone for students who are wanting to attend university. As an independent piece of work it demands a set of skills that will be important for students to develop as they make the transition from schools to universities. What are the skills and knowledge that students will need to study geography at university? How can you help them to develop these essential skills and knowledge? What types of investigation will meet specification requirements? What opportunities are there for fieldwork investigation both in London and further afield? Come and talk with other teachers and UCL lecturers to learn about developing research skills, methods and ideas for fieldwork opportunities for your students. The London Geography Alliance was established in 2014 to enhance collaboration and communication between universities and schools, and to promote the development of teachers’ geographical knowledge and expertise. Expenses for the event are covered by the LGA, so there is no charge. However, you do need to reserve a place to attend by emailing:
